SAGE RAMPS UP ON X-3 Featured

Sage’s recent trading update for the third quarter ended June 30 gives some indication of why there is a push on X3. During the earnings webcast last month, CFO Jonathan Howell said there had been “some under-performance” in X-3 licenses and services in both France and the United States.

My memory is that underperforming (or similar phrases) is a word were  have heard before during Sage's earnings reports for the re-re-named manufacturing application (formerly Sage Enterprise Management, formerly X-3.) That could explain why within days of the report, Sage announced a conference and a manufacturing report. The conference is Sage Sessions X3, which is being held September 4 and 5 in Phoenix, Ariz.  The company describes the event “as an educational experience designed to help fast-growing companies in complex industries.” It’s a fairly heavy-duty line of speakers Sage-wise with president Blair Crump; chief marketing officer Ron McMurtie, EVP; head of North America operations Nancy Harris; and Jennifer Warawa, the EVP of partners, accountants and alliances, all on the agenda. That announcement was followed in five days by the publication of results of survey of process manufacturers, the sweet spot in the X3 market.
