Oracle NetSuite has introduced a new Community Exchange marketplace this week. Designed to bring together suppliers and customers for items needed in fighting the pandemic, the exchange is in the first stage of operations in the United States.

It currently concentrates on personal protective equipment and sanitizing supplies but will later handle other items and needs. As more businesses join, NetSuite plans expand the service abroad and as recovery activities begin and non-essential businesses re-open more broadly. Besides listing items they make or sell, companies can also list surplus items from reduced operations, such as cleaning supplies and they can also determine whether they are donating or charging for items. During the first stage, no transactions will be conducted on the site.
