QBO ADVANCED CUSTOMERS DOUBLE Featured

Intuit says that the number of customers doubled in the year ended July 31. During the recent earnings webcast for the first quarter ended October 30, CEO Sasan Goodarzi said the total reached 75,000 customers.

QBO Advanced is designed for businesses with 10 to 100 employees and as a product to disrupt the lower end of the mid-market. It is the online entry for a market in which Intuit’s desktop application is QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions. QBES, itself, has seen significant growth over the last two years and has been credited with helping  the on-premise QB business segment to continue to grow. “We are still selling plenty of QuickBooks Enterprise,” agrees Mario Nowogrodzki, a Florida-based reseller who says he is the only person to sit on the advisory councils for both Enterprise and Advanced. Despite Intuit’s reports of strong sales for Advanced, Nowogrodzki says the price point is too low for much of the mid-market. “People don’t believe it,” he says. Intuit set the price at $150 per month for 25 users.” Intuit does not break out different QuickBooks product revenue, reporting only online and desktop revenue. Online revenue rose to $392 million for the most recently ended period, an increase of 28 percent from $306 million. Desktop revenue was $241 million, up .8 percent from $239 million in last year’s corresponding period.
