COVID: THE SHOW GOES ON? Featured

The 2022 show season kicks off this month with the Acumatica Partner Summit set for this month in Las Vegas. With Broadway shows closing and Covid having impacted College Bowl games and interrupted a lot of thigs , the question will be the fate of industry shows and conferences.

From a personal view, I had failed to get a preferred airline seat for this mont's fight to Sin City, but figuring COVID would cause cancellations and some seats opened up. Today, January 13, The flight shows six first class, 23 economy, 26 economy plus and 18 preferred seats open for a January 23 departure, in an era in which flights are usually packed.. Microsoft has not yet announced a date for its Inspire conference, which was virtual in July last year, nor has SAP laid out plans for Sapphire, usually held in May. Otherwise, many organizations are on the calendar. Zoho had announced via email its Zoholics in this country will be April 25 through 27 in Austin, Texas, but right now, the company website is not showing the event—only Zoholic events in the Middle East. Xerocon, which had no 2020 or 2021 in-person editions in the United States, is scheduled for May 25 and 26 in New Orleans. SuiteWorld, displaced from spring to fall last year, returns of Las Vegas, September 26 through 29. Sage Transform, which took the place of Intacct Advantage last fall, also returns to Vegas October 10 to 14, and this time embraces those who would have attended the former /sage Summit. Epicor Insights which was held last year in Las Vegas, was set for May in Nashville, Tenn., but information is not showing up on the company website.
