COO PERKINS LEAVING SAGE Featured

Lee Perkins, Sage’s COO and what I like to call  the software organization's utility infielder, is leaving the company after more than eight years in two tenures. The company confirmed he was "wrapping up" his job and leaving for another opportunity.

Sage announced the plan internally last year to employees. His photo and biographical sketch disappeared from the Sage leadership page on its website.. Probably only public clue was on December 22 when Sage noted the transfer of 42,585 shares from his employee account to his broker account Perkins was first with Sage from June 2011 through February 2015. During that time, he led the small business division and spent the last one year three months as the EVP leading the operations in the United Kingdom and Ireland. He took the position of interim EVP for the U.K. and Ireland from February through September 2018, not as a Sage employee but as part of Lightbulb Consulting. He rejoined Sage in September 2018 as EVP of the global diversified portfolio and stayed on in three different CXO roles with product titles. He became COO in August 2020.
