Avalara has received new certifications that enable it to connect to an international e-invoicing network.

The company’s e-invoicing platform now allows Avalara to connect its customers to the Peppol network. Trading partners can exchange standards-based electronic documents over the Peppol network. Avalara can now communicate with government authorities in authorities across Australia, Japan, New Zealand, the European Union, and other areas for sending and receiving tax-compliant electronic invoices. Additionally, Avalara is now involved as a technical committee contributor for the Business Payments Coalition’s E-invoice Exchange Market Pilot, which is supported by the Federal Reserve and noted Alex Baulf, senior director of E-invoicing at Avalara, has been named to the interim board of directors of the Digital Business Networks Alliance. The company intends to be accredited by the alliance as an access point and service provider for the sending and receiving of electronic business documents over the new exchange framework that will go live in the United States this year.
