QUISITIVE’S CLOUD REVS DROP Featured

Cloud revenue for Canada-based reseller Quisitive Technologies declined by 5.6 percent for the first quarter ended March 31. The company said the drop stemmed from weaker demand for professional services.

The total for Global Cloud Solutions fell to. $31.8 million for the most recently ended period, compared to $33.7 million a year ago. Quisitive said change to professional services that it said result in $4.5 million in annualized savings. “We made some adjustments,” Scott Meriwether said in the recent earnings webcast. Those adjustments were not specified except to say the company is shifting investment to areas that are growing. Quisitive noted there were personnel changes but did not use words suggesting layoffs. However, Quisitive pointed to growth in Dynamics revenue in professional services and “on cloud basics.” Pushing top-line results higher was the company’s payments business. CEO Mike Reinhart said there was “A significant contribution coming from our global payments business.” For the quarter, Quisitive lost $2.6 million, up from $1.5 million in red ink in last year’s corresponding period. A big factor in the increased loss was $1.95 million in share-based compensation, compared to $422,000 from that source a year ago. Revenue reached $48.3 million, rising 7.5 percent from $44.9 million. Global Payments Solutions revenue grew 47.3 percent to $16.5 million from $11.2 million. Besides carrying cloud-based and non-cloud-based Dynamics applications, Quisitive also sells Sage Intacct and Unanet ERP software.
