AVALARA PROMOTES PARTNER VP Featured

Avalara has promoted Meg Higgins to the position of SVP of global partners. Higgins takes on the expanded role after serving as VP of global partner business development since January 2022

Her hiring is part of continued change in the sales organization and executive ranks since Avalara was acquired by Vista Equity Partners in October. The appointment of Higgins follows the April 2023 announcement of Sean Flynn as the company’s SVP of global sales, who leads the company’s go-to-market sales teams. President and COO Amit Mathradas stepped into the CEO job at Nintex in March. Chief product officer Sanjay Parasarathy left in January. Higgins, who has spent four years with the sales tax software company, was previously VP of eCommerce and global marketplaces from April 2020 through December 2021.  Higgins spent nearly 14 years with Pitney Bowes. That included stints from 2018 and July 2019 and September 2015 through December 2016 in executive channel roles. She worked at Pitney Bowes Software from January 2004 through June 2015. In her last role there from October 2008 through June 2015, she was co-founder and global ecommerce, a project that was incubated at the company.
