RSM GOBBLES UP JUNCTION SOLUTIONS Featured

Steve Ems, RSMRSM (until recently known as McGladrey) has ballooned as a presence in the Dynamics AX market with the purchase of Junction Solutions. The deal  adds $50 million to the $174 million in annual revenue reported by the accounting firm's IT consulting business. "This one really gives us a huge uplift in capacity," says Steve Ems, RSM principal and national business applications leader about the week's announcement of the purchase.

He continues the deal, whose price was not disclosed, means. "We are the largest AX practice in the U.S." The acquisition also comes as Microsoft revealed its AX cloud plans this week and that appears to be driving a wave of AX M&A activity, including Sonata Software's purchased of I.B.I.S., the attempted hostile takeover of Edgewater Technology by Ameri Holdings and the probably acquisition of Australia-based UXC by U.S.-based IT services giant, CSC. Denver, Colo.-based Junction has about 220 people who have joined RSM with 10 major players there now principals at RSM. Ems says the deal provides "a huge entrée and credibility in consumer products food and beverage and retail" as well as augmenting the firm's growing life sciences business. RSM expects to turn the AX business into a $100-million practice in the next four years.
