RKL BUYS BAESIS FOR SAGE BIZ Featured

Walt Goodfield, RKL eSolutions RKL eSolutions has acquired Baesis, a Northborough, Mass.-based software reseller. Lancaster, Pa.-based RKL  purchased the company for its Sage 100 and JobOps practices. It did not hang onto the Exact Macola line, which Baesis had picked up in October. Walt Goodfield, VP of sales and marketing for RKL, said Baesis had "previously spun off its Managed Services, Sage 50 and Macola practices to other companies not disclosed to RKL." JobOps, a manufacturing package, is sold through Sage resellers.

Goodfield says, "We hope to reinvigorate Sage and the channel about the value of JobOps and its market opportunity." The deal also simplifies the ownership of JobOps, which had been divested by BDO Seidman last year through the sale of its Synergistic Software Solutions subsidiary. That organization was acquired by private equity group, Anania & Associates Investment Co., and Baesis with RKL then taking an equity position in Synergistic early last summer. Baesis, which joined the JobOps Solution Provider Program in August 2013, was founded in 2007 by Frank Leonard who had operated Macola reseller Integrated Computer Systems from August 1989 through November 2002. Leonard did not join RKL; however, another Baesis principal, Patrick Anson, became its Sage 100 practice leader.
