SAGE FIXING VAR OVERPAYMENTS Featured

Sage is putting into effect a plan to deal with overpayments it made for commissions for Sage 100 cloud during the last two years. The plan was outlined this week by Nancy Teixeira, VP of partner strategy and sales, during an all-hands partner webinar this week.

“We messed up,” Teixeira said. The error was because the computer system applied the commission for the installed base to subscriptions.  Sage is forgiving overpayments that occurred from October 2017 and September 2018—fiscal 2018. However, it plans to recover the overpayments that occurred between then and May 2019. “We are trying to make this as least painful as possible,” Teixeira told listeners. The plan is to make it a cashless deal—overpayments will be deducted from partner payments in six monthly installments. Teixeira emphasized the mistake affected only “a subset of partners” but did not spell out how many were impacted.
