AccountMate has started actively looking for new VARs again. The Petaluma, Calif.-based software company had largely put recruiting on hold while it came to market with its new Enterprise application recently, according to CEO David Dierke.

BizNet Software has released Excel-based reporting for SAP Business One and Syspro. The product-specific versions of BizNet deliver the same functions to the different ERP packages and that includes real-time Excel reporting and analytics. Both offer drag-and-drop reporting and business intelligence and multi-dimensional drill downs while leveraging existing spreadsheets.

Acuity Business Solutions, one of two resellers to emerge from the dissolution of Acumen Advisors, has joined the BizNet channel program. A Deltek premier reseller, Acuity, based in Reston, Va., will sell BizNet's Excel Suite to the Deltek Vision market. Acumen was formed by the merger of two Deltek VARs and although the split caused the creation of two new ones, they have the same pre-marriage leaders. June Jewell owns Acuity while Kevin O'Connor went into business under the name Full Sail Partners. Meanwhile, BizNet has announced the second annual conference, ExcelaPalooza will be held September 24 and 25 at the Rosewood Crescent Hotel in Dallas. It's sort of worth writing about it just for the name.

BizNet Software has been around for several years, but with Microsoft’s decision to abandon the FRx reporting application, the company is making a big push to enlist vendors and their resellers in the sale of its reporting and analysis tool, the BizNet Excel Business Information Suite. The company has distribution agreements with nine vendors, including AccountMate for the last two months, and Epicor Software sells the product as the privately labeled Excel Connect.
