“Oracle's application development teams were early adopters of this new AI cloud service,” Ellison said during this week’s earnings webcast. “We used our own private data to improve and extend the training of existing Cohere large language models.” The supplementary training led to the development of a new LLM for medical professionals and one for first responders. Ellison said the service enables customers to safely use their private data to train their private specialized LLMs. In addition, Oracle is partnering with NVIDIA to build what he said is “the world's largest high-performance computer, an AI computer with 16,000 GPUs.” Overall, the use of AI was a major theme during Ellison’s remarks, including the use of the technology to improve its autonomous database and areas where its cloud is self-healing.
