APTEAN UPDATES ENCOMPIX, ONYX

aptean logo new.Aptean, formed in August by the merger of Consona and CDC Software, has had its most ambitious month for releases in June. It introduced version 7.4 of its Onyx CRM package and version 10 of Encompix ERP. The only new products previously announced since the merger were an update to Compiere, its open source CRM package, and Saratoga CRM for iPad.

So this is the most important set of product enhancements so far. Encompix is designed for engineer-to-order and custom manufacturers that design and build complex products to exact customer specifications. Version 10 offers an Outlook-style navigation tree for the entire application with a re-engineered user interface built on Microsoft .Net. Users can also now open any number of Encompix windows at once, navigate between them. Windows are automatically resized via browsers. Users can also dynamically switch between companies and work with multiple companies simultaneously. Aptean says the major change to Onyx came in the areas of customer service and user efficiency. Improvements in 7.4 include automatic event notifications, made possible by integration to email servers, and the ability to push reminders created in Onyx  to Exchange as calendar appointments. The Appointments tab allows users to view the task and associated customer record. A customer summary pane now provides views of information for companies and individuals within navigator without the need to open the respective customer record.
