DYNAMICS REVS UP 3 PERCENT Featured

MicrosoftMaybe because I gave up on reading Microsoft financial reports some time ago, but my recollection it has been a while since the company gave any indication about Dynamics sales. There were no figures in the 10-K for fiscal 2015 or the third quarter 10-Q. In any event, the company said that for the first quarter ended September 30, Dynamics revenue rose by 3 percent over the first quarter of 2015.

The reason was a phrase we have heard before that the increase was "mainly due to higher revenue from Dynamics CRM Online, driven by seat growth." That suggests that financial application revenue was particularly sluggish, although no discussion of that category was made and no actual revenue figures were revealed. It's interesting that the company would resume this kind of reporting as this is the lowest increase that I can remember seeing in any of the financial reports after the company stopped showing actual revenue several years ago and began using the percentage increase in sales.
