While there, she coordinated the development of the Accredited Business Valuation Credential, now administered by the AICPA and was the Co-chair of the Large CPA State Society Coalition. Before 1997, the organization was ACUTE—Accountants Computer User Technical. Exchange, which began in 1963 as a group of accounting firm users of IBM computers. It morphed into ITA as the profession changed and IBM dropped its sponsorship. Its membership now encompasses consultants and resellers of accounting software, including those operating within CPA firms, as well as technology leaders as large accounting firms.

ITA DIRECTOR BENZER RETIRES Featured
Jo Ann Benzer, who has served as the executive director of the Information Technology Alliance, has retired from her position. Benzer has worked for the association since its inception in the fall of 1997. Benzer served in the COO function of the Illinois CPA Society from 1978 through 1997. At the society, she was responsible for the strategy direction, staff and volunteer leadership succession, committee oversight, and business management.
