NET@WORK OWNERS BUY MAGENTO BIZ Featured

Alex Solomon, Net@WorkNet@Work founders Alex and Eddie Solomon had acquired the Magento Practice of Pixafy. The purchased operation—now a Net@Work sister company—carries the name Pixafy Services, which brought about 43 employees with it, and will also serve as the reseller's Web and ecommerce arms. Net@Work merged its ecommerce operations into Pixafy Services.

The deal also comes as New York-based Net@Work sees its business increasingly moving into the upper reaches of the midmarket and lower parts of the enterprise space. The Solomons kept the name because "The Pixafy brand is so much stronger than the Net@Work brand in the ecommerce market," says Alex Solomon. Ross Glick, described as a digital marketing expert, is serving a managing director of Pixafy Services. Solomon says the Pixafy business operated more like an agency and aspects that Net@Work believed it could not perform as well as an unit experienced in the ecommerce market. Pixafy's Magento clients "are a little bit larger" than those served historically by Net@Work. However, Solomon says the Sage and NetSuite reseller is being pulled upmarket by its customers. In addition, "now that we are in the Magento market, we must make sure we have the right other solutions for those customers," Solomon says. He notes the Sage X3 and NetSuite lines are well suited for serving larger client companies. The owner of Pixafy kept an entry-level ecommerce product and changed the company's name to Zoey.
