AVALARA PLANS CONFERENCE Featured

Scott McFarlane, Avalara Avalara has scheduled a conference, its first-ever, for May 10 and 11 in New Orleans, La. Since this publication announced the show in early December, this is just for those who might have missed that news. Called Crush 2016, the conference features training session, educational programs and of course CPE will be available for said events. Material covered will include VAT (value added tax) and landed cost tariffs; fuel and other excise taxes; exemption certificate,1099, W-9, and other tax document management; and tax returns processing and remittance.

I presume the Bainbridge Island, Wash.-based sales-and-use-tax vendor will have special sessions on the taxation of beignets, chicory coffee and Mardi Gras beads. If I know the company headed by CEO Scott McFarlane, there should be a decent party, a requirement for events held in this town. Sessions are being held at the Royal Sonesta Hotel on Bourbon Street so there won't be far to crawl to attend the second day. I am sure this has been done before but Avalara has provided a downloadable, customizable justification letter that can be submitted for those who hope to attend. What? I want to get Bourbon-faced on, well, you know, isn't enough?
