BLACKBAUD BUILDING NEW HQ Featured

Mike Gianoni, Blackbaud Blackbaud is building a new headquarters that it says will accommodate more than 300 new workers over the next five years. The Charleston, S.C.-based nonprofit software company says the new facility will be constructed on Daniel Island in Berkeley County, S.C. CEO Mike Gianoni noted his organization has operated in South Carolina for 30 years and termed the new project a "generational investment."

The headquarters will feature an approximately 360,000 square foot campus that Blackbaud described as eco-friendly. Construction will begin in the fall and will be completed in phases. The company will maintain its current headquarters at 2000 Daniel Island Drive until each new building is ready for occupancy. The project is expected to be completed by 2018. In its press release, Blackbaud said the new facility "will offer unique community space to incubate emerging nonprofits and connect people with common interests." The HQ will also host the company's community development and corporate citizenship activities, such as Camp Blackbaud, an employee-led STEM program that teaches elementary school children how to design and code.
