Ken Lorenz, RivaChannel veteran Ken Lorenz has taken over responsibility for the Riva channel in North America. Lorenz, now director of partner engagement says Riva has a channel but "They have not had somebody specifically in charge." With more than 500 names in the Riva program, the job will be more about activation of existing resellers than recruiting new ones. Riva integrates most email and CRM packages via server-side synchronization. Lorenz says no VAR is likely to build a business around reselling Riva.

Instead, he continues, "It's more like the cherry on top of the sundae." Riva's functions, he continues, are useful because most CRM systems "are yucky about receiving and resending emails." Riva will archive and synchronize email messages and threads back to the CRM systems, along synchronizing contacts, accounts, opportunity records and calendar items. Until taking the new job this month, Lorenz spent eight months as business development director of vertical ISV relationships for Acumatica. Before that, he was senior business development director for SAP from September 2014 through October 2015.
