ACUMATICA SIGNS GERMAN OEM DEAL Featured

Markus Dränert, LexwareAcumatica is continuing its overseas expansion by partnering with software developers in other countries. This time, it is German software vendor Lexware which is getting into the cloud market by building its application on the Acumatica xRP platform. It is a tactic that Bellevue, Wash.-based Acumatica has used in four other countries in which its product, but not its name, is moving into their markets.

Companies building on the Acumatica platform are MYOB, Australia; Censof, Malaysia; Visma, Norway; and Acceo, Canada. MYOB led the way in this way, making an investment of undisclosed size in Acumatica in the summer of 2014 and bringing to market MYOB Advanced, written on the Acumatica cloud platform, in 2015. Lexware is part of the Haufe Group, whose CEO Markus Reithwiesner noted in a prepared statement the advantages the deal brings to his company. "Acumatica is the perfect partner for Haufe Group to speed up our strategic transformation to the cloud. The Acumatica platform will help us to realize a rapid market entry in a new customer segment and drive our ongoing company growth." Lexware claims to serve more than a million customers. Markus Dränert, managing director of Lexware, spelled out the advantages more specifically. "We will be able to launch localized versions of their top-notch ERP product with only a fraction of the usual development costs and time," he said.
