COLUMBUS GROWS ON SERVICE REVS Featured

Thomas Honoré, ColumbusDanish VAR and developer Columbus this week reported a 55-percent increase in its net result on an 8-percent rise in revenue for the first half ended June 30. Columbus attributed much of the growth to its services income with its acquisitions, including that of InterDyn BMI last year, playing a major role in growth.

In this week's earnings webcast, CEO Thomas Honoré said increased charge hours in Norway and United States were factors in the improvement in the services business. On the bottom line, the net result was about $6 million while revenue was roughly $90 million. Services revenue was about $59 million, an increase of 10 percent over last year's corresponding period. Revenue in the United States was approximately $31.4 million for the most recently ended period, up 12.8 percent from a year earlier. Columbus saw revenue drop in Norway, Russia and the United Kingdom with the fall of the Russian ruble contributing to a weak half in the company's Eastern Europe operations. This year's acquisitions were the Client Strategy Group of Cleveland, Ohio, which had about $5 million in revenue, and Systemhosting, a Danish system and hosting company with about the same level of revenue.
