Microsoft has outlined its plans for Dynamics 365. A post on news section of the software company's CustomerSource, says Dynamics AX will become Dynamics 365 for Operations application within Dynamics 365 – Enterprise edition. The full Enterprise edition will be available next year. The cloud option, which is built on Azure, will be available on November 1 as Microsoft ramps up its most serious cloud entry to date.

Microsoft spelled out the support horizon for current AX releases with mainstream support for Dynamics 2009 available until April 2018 and until October 2012 for AX 2012 R3. The company said for those who wish to move online "Compelling transition offers are available. " Hybrid deployment options will be available who want to host their ERP system in their own data centers.
