TRACKING SAGE CHANNEL CHANGES Featured

Jim Scott, former Sage VPSage has noted the large percentage of changes in top personnel. But what is also notable is some key players hired in the last two years left quickly—witness Rich Spring whose short tenure in this country was well known. A more recent one was a long-term Sage employee with a short tenure in a partner position.

That was Jim Scott, who served as global VP of partner programs from September 2015 though October 2016. Scott's LinkedIn page shows he played a particular significant role in the channel. It says he "Created and implemented a worldwide Partner Program..." It's that worldwide program that was promised, but whose exact status has never been made clear. With the company since March 1997, Scott left to found Paramount Consulting. Scott's departure was not broadcast widely but the channel was given a full announcement when Scott Ehmen became VP of North America partner strategy and sales about the same time. In the same period, Mike Wingrove, VP of North American sales, left to VP of channels at Avalara after working in the Sage job since July 2012. More recently, Sage was also advertising for a director of global product marketing. As one partner really said with its move to Atlanta, Sage lost a lot of institutional knowledge. It's really hard to see there much institutional knowledge left at higher levels.
