SAGE BIZ CLOUD: WORK IN PROGRESS Featured

Robert Reid, Sage IntacctThe press release recently announcing the Sage Business Cloud was short on details. It says the platform will have financials core products, which include accounting, financials, enterprise management, people, payroll, payments and banking, is "designed to meet the complex needs of every company."

What it did not say was which products provide the engine, although some should be obvious. But that’s not the case with financials. Intacct will the engine inside the United States, according to Robert Reid, CEO of Sage Intacct. But in other countries it will be Sage Live. That’s not quite the same  as Intacct is targeting complex middle-market businesses and Reid agreed Live’s market can be describe as covering some of the low end of the Peachtree market. That means when Intacct goes international there will not be a market conflict. What also should happen is some degree of interoperability of products so you have a real suite. That work is just getting started since Intacct has been part of Sage for about three months.
