ABILA PARENT BUYS MORE COMPANIES Featured

Erin Shy, Community BrandsCommunity Brands, the parent to the nonprofit Abila software line, is expanding through more acquisitions. The St. Petersburg, Fla.-based company has acquired two more companies and has an agreement to purchase a third.

Terms were not disclosed. It has purchased 501 Auctions of Brooklyn, N.Y., which provides pre-configured auction web sites, and Westmont, Ill.-based Gesture, which sells mobile fundraising products, including mobile bidding, guest management, check-in check-out and direct donations. It has an agreement to buy Atlanta, Ga.-based GiveSmart, which offers silent, live and online auctions. Community Brands notes the latest deals move it into the mobile auction and fundraising event services market. The acquired units will fall under the Nonprofit Solutions division led by Executive Vice President Erin Shy.
