SAAS DRIVES INFOR QUARTER Featured

Charles Phillips, InforInfor's results for the second quarter ended October 31 benefited from the impact of SaaS sales on the top line and currency gains on the bottom line. The software company had revenue of $775.4 million, 8.6 percent higher than the $714.4 million in last year's corresponding period.

Net income in the most recently ended quarter was $24.5 million up sharply from a year earlier. That was solely the function of currency gains of $49.3 million. However, the second quarter currency gains did not offset the first[quarter losses in that category. CEO Charles Phillips said the results were "driven by continued momentum in SaaS revenue, strong services revenue growth and solid maintenance retention." Phillips noted training of major systems integrators such as Accenture is ongoing. The SIs handle the upper end of the Infor product line while resellers deal with the midmarket.
