SOCIUS, SBS, NOW VELOSIO Featured

Jim Bowman, VelosioTwo Microsoft Dynamics Master VARs, the SBS Group and Socius, are merging. Given their figures for Bob Scott's Insights VAR Stars, the new reseller, Velosio, starts life with $89 million revenue and 320 employees.

The announcement also says there are 150 affiliates and more than 4000 customers. SBS co-founder and CEO Jim Bowman is chairman and Socius CEO Jeff Geisler takes that title in the new organization. The two gave statements as holding the titles but the announcement indicates in more than on spot the merger has not yet been completed. Velosio is a Dynamics-only organization and SBS, based in Edison, N.J., had been headed that way, having carried Sage years ago and Acumatica, but no longer handles those. Socius was the only VAR to make both the Dynamics Inner Circle and the Sage President's Circle. Although it has not been in the Sage award list recently, it still carried NetSuite, Sage 100/500 and Syspro as of the VAR Star application. Maybe this merger is why Tony DiBenedetto, head of Tribridge, told a Florida publication his firm would have $180 million in revenue this year. That was surprising, as Tribridge is owned by DCX Technology and a Tribridge PR person told the company does not release revenue. The announcement said Velosio will be the largest Dynamics Master VAR. Tribridge was a Master VAR but only announced the signing of one affiliate. However, it has been clear for the last year that the trend among Dynamics VARs was going to be getting much larger, especially those on the AX side.
