Keri Gorman, XeroXexo has introduced an application for self-employed users, Xero +C. The Xero application is designed for free-lance workers, but is also described as opening the market to professional accounting firms.

The self-employed market is one drawing vendor attention as the numbers of self-employed grow. Rival Intuit has seen rapid growth for its QuickBooks Self-Employed.  The Xero application is designed for free-lance workers. The new product is initially being distributed through Xero's partner channel and for a limited time will be included with Xero for free. "Xero +C opens up a huge market opportunity for accountants," says Keri Gohman, president of Xero Americas. Accountants are sometime reluctant to accept self-employed clients because dealing with them can be cost-prohibitive because of record-keeping issues. The Xero application automates the creation of Schedule C reports, which Xero says frees professionals to concentrate of providing advisory services. Xero has also integreted with MileIQ, which plugs directly into Xero so users can automatically track mileage, classify their drives and report their activities.
