ACUMATICA TARGETS CONSTRUCTION Featured

Ali Jani, Acumatica Acumatica thinks it has a leg up in the construction market where it says it is the sole cloud product among a bunch of legacy desktop systems. The remainder of the market is “old Dexter Chaney, old Viewpoint, old Sage,” Ali Jani, VP of partner strategy, product management, and services, said this week.

Jani made his comments at the launch event for Acumatica R2 2018. He followed that comment with “That’s what fun about this. We’re the first to the table with a modern cloud product.” The SaaS product has had an impact on the reselling channel. Among Sage’s construction VARs, most of the largest, Accordant, Aktion, Alliance Solutions Group and United Solutions have adopted Acumatica.  Bob Sandelands, owner of Morristown, N.J.-based Accordant (who was not at the roll out), said he added Acumatica to his firm’s Sage lineup because  “We needed a construction SAAS product.” Since Acumatica introduced the Construction Edition in March, Jani said the company has signed 50 customers, not all live. As far as what companies need in software, “It’s being in the cloud, having modern technology and supporting mobile and document management and connection with CRM,” Jani said.
