INFOR MFG STARTS TOWARD CLOUD Featured

Charles Phillips, Infor Infor said this week it is starting to see its manufacturing customer base move toward cloud products. While only 1 percent of that base has made the move, company officials said during an earnings conference call that strong movement has begun.

“We are announcement significant momentum in this market,” CEO Charles Phillips said. Manufacturing is the company’s largest market. By comparison, 12 percent to 15 percent of health care customers have gone to the cloud, but manufacturing is a far larger market. For the second quarter ended October 31, the company reported net income of $78.9 million, three times the $24.2 million a year ago. Revenue rose to $799 million, a 3 percent rise from $775.4 million in last year’s corresponding quarter. SaaS revenue rose 21.5 percent to $160.5 million in the most recently ended quarter, up from $132.1 million. The switch means license revenue continues to move down, falling to $69.4 million, off 4.8 percent, from $72.9 million.
