“We plan to continue investing in sales ramp across the board,” CEO Mike Gianoni said during this week’s webcast for earnings for the second quarter ended June 30. However, he also noted, “We plan on smoothing things out next year so hiring won’t be so lumpy.” Blackbaud did not provide numbers of individuals hired or the percentage of change in the sales force year-over-year. Meanwhile, the nonprofit software company reported net income of $7.1 million for the most recently ended period, an 8.3-percent increase over $6.6 million a year earlier. Second-quarter revenue was $225.6 million, up 5.6 percent from $213.7 million in last year’s corresponding period.
