SBS SLATES EXPANSION
The SBS Group, a Dynamics reseller based in Woodbridge, N.J., says it has entered on phase two in building its partner network. And the company has hired former Tectura CEO Terry Petrzelka to help recruit VARs. Owners Jim Bowman and Joe Longo say their goals include enlisting business people “who maintain the entrepreneurial spirit at the local office” while consolidating services “that make sense”, according to Bowman. SBS now has 15 offices put together from seven organizations that include affiliated companies “and a few that turned into acquisitions.”
Petrzelka, who was not invested in the group, will identify candidates. SBS will provide shared services such as tech support, marketing and demand generation, and back-office functions, along with its own vertical products. Verticals include government contractors, process manufacturing and homebuilding. Longo said SBS had already helped some offices begin carrying Microsoft products such as Dynamics CRM, SharePoint, and HyperV. “A lot of them weren’t too involved in the stack products,” he said. The company carries all four Dynamics accounting packages, although it sells predominately Dynamics GP and SL. SBS also carries Acumatica, Deltek Vision and Sage's MAS 500 and PFW.
