Sage with enter the construction market with its Sage Intacct application. There is no official news. However, one person at the Sage Intacct Advantage conference this month termed the move “The worst-kept secret at Sage”.

 There was no indication of how soon this might occur. But with the development in this software arena, Sage has to respond. Acumatica quickly signed up most of Sage’s major construction VARs at the cloud software company came out with its Acumatica Construction Edition in January 2018. And Procore is showing itself to be a fast-moving, rapidly growing player in the field.  Asked about the future, Robert Reid, chairman of Sage's Mid-Market Solutions Group,  said whatever happens, the current product line is performing well. “Sage CRE is having a tremendous year with dramatic new customer acquisition,” Reid said. “They are doing extremely well even though there are more and more competitors.” The move is important for Sage as a significant part of its channel business is through construction resellers. In an August list of top-performing VARs, seven out of the top 10 were construction VARS. One the competitive side, Acumatica CEO Jon Roskill has referred to the rest of the market as “ “old Dexter Chaney, old Viewpoint, old Sage,”
