STONERIDGE ACQUIRES ABS Featured

Stoneridge Software, based in Stoneville, Minn., has acquired Advanced Business Systems, based in Austin, Texas. In this week’s announcement, ABS president Chris Carrigee, who co-founded his firm in January 1989, noted the way in which the services resellers deliver have grown more complex.

Generally, the deal is designed to provide better service to clients in this increasingly complicated atmosphere. The combination of the two organizations brings it to a size needed to compete effectively in the Dynamics realm—some would say to get Microsoft’s attention. ABS had  22 employees and $5.7 million in revenue. The most recent numbers for Stoneridge, in its submission for the selection of Bob Scott’s VAR Stars for 2019, were 170 employees and $27 million in annual revenue. ABS markets Dynamics NAV and its cloud-based success Dynamics 365 Business Central. It also sells GP 2365 for converting Dynamics GP to Business Central. Stoneridge carries BC, GP and NAV and also Dynamics AX and its cloud successor, Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations. Besides concentrating on common markets such as corporate accounting, distribution and manufacturing, it also specializes in oil field services and rentals.
