The Rand Group has created a data sciences practice, the Houston, Texas-based reseller said this month. It also said Brian Peterson and Anthony Bonaduce have joined it as VPs to run the business.

In announcing the new practice, the firm said the practice means it "is able to offer their clients deep expertise to solving their data challenges.” Rand’s analytics applications include Jet Global, Solver BI360, and Microsoft Power BI and SQL Server. Both men had extensive tenures at Jet Global, which was acquired by Insightsoftware in May. Peterson was with Jet Global from June 2008 through last month. He was VP of customer engagement there from June 2015 through October 2017 and VP of product October 2017 until taking the new job.
