CHANNEL BOOMS FOR NETSUITE

NetSuite

Zach NelsonChannel sales have grown significantly over the last two years, NetSuite executives said in yesterday’s earnings call for the first quarter ended March 31. Channel bookings have grown from 23 percent of total bookings in 2009 to 32 percent in 2010 to 40 percent in the first quarter. That information was released as the company reported a 13-percent  increase in its loss on a 20.7 percent increase in revenue compared to the first quarter of 2010.

The loss grew to $7.7 million from $6.8 million. Revenue for the quarter was $53.4 million, up from $44.3 million in last year's corresponding period.. The company beat its forecast for revenue, loss and cash flow and as a result, it raised its outlook for 2011. CEO Zach Nelson said the capacity of both direct and indirect sales has grown significantly. Nelson said that the company is starting to see increased interest from traditional VARs. “We are starting to see much more of those guys come on than we have in the past,” he said. Nelson said there would important channel announcements at the company’s SuiteWorld conference, which starts on May 9. One of the teases made by Nelson was a statement that an important SAP Business ByDesign reseller is switching to NetSuite and says it would rather be exclusive with NetSuite. On the product side, Nelson said that the OneWorld product contributed a record percentage of revenue, although that was not broken out. He said that the company would wait until the second-quarter results are released to offer specifics as the performance was so strong he wanted to wait on a second data point to see if there is a trend.
