PARIS TECHNOLOGIES TO FILL PERFORMANCEPOINT VOID
Paris Technologies, the Doylestown, Pa.-based vendor of PowerOlap, says it's going to fill the gap left when Microsoft suspended development of its PerformancePoint Suite. Paris plans to do that with a partnership with XLCubed, which makes Excel-based reporting and analysis tools for Microsoft Analysis Services.
Under this deal, PowerOlapconnects to XLCubed Excel and to Web browsers using the XLCubed Web Edition user interface. PowerOLAP engine also provides Excel and XLCubed users with budgeting, forecasting, reporting, analysis, consolidation, and business intelligence capabilities. Microsoft stopped selling PerformancePoint on April 1 as it planned to merge that product with SharePoint with the next release of Microsoft Office. The product is being rebraded as PerformancePoint Services for SharePoint.
