ACCOUNTMATE TAKES DIFFERENT SAAS TACK
AccountMate has produced a SaaS system for its accounting software, but instead of providing a multi-tenanted system it is preparing platform under which each user has a single instance of the software. "With most other SaaS vendors, they are involved in multi tenanted software; one copy is shared by five, ten, 100 other users," CEO David Dierke told attendees at his company's Synergy reseller conference this week.
Although the approach is more expensive for the vendor, its lets VARs customize the application for each client. It also enables AccountMate to install third-party products such as InfoTrack and ClickBase at the same time and to be wrapped together under a single monthly charge. Changes will be made to software residing on the AccountMate SaaS server. The ability to make customizations is important to the AccountMate channel as many serve a small number of customers, but high modify the software to meet needs of narrow vertical markets.
