BIZNET OUT TO REPLACE FRX

BizNet Software has been around for several years, but with Microsoft’s decision to abandon the FRx reporting application, the company is making a big push to enlist vendors and their resellers in the sale of its reporting and analysis tool, the BizNet Excel Business Information Suite. The company has distribution agreements with nine vendors, including AccountMate for the last two months, and Epicor Software sells the product as the privately labeled Excel Connect.
In September, BizNet signed distribution agreements with Expandable Software, Open System, Cyma and TIW Technology (which markets the Alere accounting line) and is releasing a product for Dynamics GL on November 5. The company did not get the nod as the official FRx replacement from Sage North America, but sales VP Eric Eager says the company has signed about 120 Sage resellers. Sage chose a product from Alchemex instead. Sage has demoed the product as Accpac Intelligence and there is also a version for Simply Accounting, Simply Intelligence. A MAS Intelligence product has also been demoed.  Biznet touts the speed of its software, which uses in-memory database technology, which means there is “no data warehousing, no cubes”, according to Eager.
