SBS ACQUIRES OMNIOS
The SBS Group, a New Jersey-based Dynamics reseller, has acquired Omnios, a Chicago-based VAR as part of SBS's plan to take smaller Dynamics resellers under its wing as Microsoft's new channel program makes life extremely tough on small fry. Both companies carry Dynamics GP and SL although their historical strength was in SL. SBS also carries Sage's MAS 500 and Deltek Vision.
Terms were not disclosed. Omnios principal Mike Silver has become VP of sales, operating from what is now the SBS Group's Midwest office in Chicago. The last estimate I had on Omnios' revenue was $3 million while SBS had crossed the $10 million threshold. Omnios had been one of the earliest resellers for Deltek, predating Taylor Macdonald's arrival at that company in January 2008, but apparently no longer carried the product at the time of the deal. Macdonald left at the end of that year after having recruited about 55 to 60 VARs and since that time, the number has been steadily diminishing.
