AVECTRA RECRUITS CHANNEL

Richard Davis, AvectraAvectra, which markets membership management applications, is recruiting resellers. It's a limited number and I think it's going to look a lot like the Intacct channel, a company with which it has a relationship. Avectra wants about 20 resellers in the United States and Canada, according to CEO Richard Davis. And right now it has announced Signer Lewak and Equation Technologies as resellers with other prospects in the hopper.

But more important is how Avectra's products, NetForum Pro and NetForum Enterprise, fit in the convergence of Social Media, CRM, and membership management. Pro is designed for organizations with 40 or less users and Enterprise with 40 or more. Both are part of an emerging set of products in which social media link into a private social network. These include Neudesic, which exhibited at last month's Dynamics Convergence conference. Or think of Microsoft itself which is providing LinkedIn Premium-level service through its Dynamics CRM anywhere and is promising links to other applications. Davis said organizations need to attract members who are bypassing them in favor of Facebook and LinkedIn. And it's not just a loss of attention; it's a loss of revenue for job listings. "The advertising revenue that would have gone to the association is going to Facebook or LinkedIn," he said. Membership organizations must "you create your own community that is still open to Facebook, but keeps these members close," he continued.
