DYNAMICS ERP GROWTH SLUGGISH?

Bill Koefoed, MicrosoftMicrosoft has reported that Dynamics revenue rose 7 percent for the fourth quarter ended June 30. Considering that the number for the third quarter was 11-percent growth over the prior year, the year-end push for fiscal 2012 did not set any records.

Bill Koefoed, general manager of investor relations, reported that the Dynamics total reflects the fact that Dynamics CRM "grew over 25-percent". In the company's earnings webcast, Koefoed said that 360,000 users were added in the quarter, bringing the total to 2.7 million. If that healthy CRM increase was pulled down to 7 percent for Dynamics overall, then the four financial software packages in the line cannot have been very hot. Dynamics results are part of the numbers of Microsoft Business Division, a unit that exists only as a reporting entity. Kirill Tatarinov, head of the Microsoft Business Solutions, reports to CEO Steve Ballmer, although his group's numbers are buried in the MBD total revenue of $6.29 billion. That was a 7-percent rise over last year's corresponding period.
