ALCHEMEX OFFERS PFW BI
Alchemex has launched Sage PFW ERP Intelligence, an Excel-based business intelligence application. What is more interesting is what the press release announcing the product doesn’t say. It doesn’t say that Alchemex is now owned by Sage and other than the fact that Sage officially confirmed the purchase; nothing has been put on either companies’ website about the deal.
The announcement says obliquely that “The project was embarked upon by Sage North America …” as an FRx replacement. As for the product, it enables users to access report templates or to build reports themselves. There are customizable dashboards, trend reports, and summaries. Information can be pulled from multiple PFW company databases, or any ODBC-compliant data source. The fact that the first product since the purchase is for PFW is interesting since PFW is a "value" product. It suggests PFW isn't being put out on the ice floe soon.
