AVALARA IN CHANNEL REORG Featured

AvaFalle Patrick, Avalaralara has named Patrick Falle as North American Channel Chief as the company reorganizes its channel. Falle takes over from Pascal Van Dooren, who had been handling all channel duties but now is responsible for overseeing global channel efforts. Falle, a founding investor of the Bainbridge, Island, Wash.-based company, takes over recruiting more reselling, development and accounting partners in North America and internationally.

Avalara is also seeking to improve partner profitability and build its channel engagement team to provide more help. Falle, who reports to Van Dooren, previously led the sales and use tax company's United States sales efforts. Van Dooren is working on international channel expansion, particularly in Europe. Avalara said the move comes as it makes acquisitions in vertical areas such as Excise Tax and Retail. In its prepared statement, the company said it "is undertaking channel reorganization efforts that will promote synergies among channel partners and deliver greater value to the channel as a whole." Brian Austin, director of channel relations, said the move follows "massive hiring in the past six months on the East and West Coasts". He said resellers are "wanting to engage with us to get assistance with marketing to their prospects and customers, and offer solutions that make them more relevant to customers and differentiate themselves with prospects."
