"It was one of the hardest exams I've taken. It was hard and it was thorough and the questions were not throwaway questions," say Belinda Allen, chair of the credentialing council for the Association of Dynamics Professionals. NAV tests will be offered at the NAV Directions conference in Orlando, Fla., October 25 through October 28. Allen, who co-owns Smith & Allen Consulting, based in New York, N.Y., says the tests will be available at Prometric centers and via proctored sittings over the Internet after January 1 will sittings offered at Microsoft's Convergence conference, which is being held April 4 through April 7 in New Orleans. Allen says the next step will be the development of advanced tests with a Master's level to come. The examinations stem from Microsoft's decision last year to drop requirements for certifications for its channel for Dynamics GP, NAV and SL. The promoters plan to have testing available for users with longer-term goals of offering testing for resellers of other ERP packages.

TWENTY-FOUR PASS DYNAMICS TESTS Featured
Twenty-four individuals passed the first-ever round of certification testing conducted by Dynamics Communities and the new Association of Dynamics Professionals. This is the first round in the effort to establish certification testing in the Dynamics market on a model similar to that used by the Project Management Institute for its Project Management Professional credential. Tests conducted at the reImagine conference in Fargo, N.D., in September, were for GP core financials, GP installation and configuration, and NAV core applications setup.
