BLACKBAUD TESTS CPA PROGRAM

Blackbaud is considering starting a CPA program and the nonprofit software vendor is in the process of onboarding its first firm. That is apparently a test as the Charleston, S.C.-based company is not ready to discuss a program in detail. This comes as the company studies its options for expanding its channel program as discussed in the last edition of this newsletter.
(And I simply forgot to ask about a CPA effort during the interviews that led to that article). Blackbaud has not had an active channel program since 2004 when it folded its efforts. Since then, it has kept the resellers it got through products it acquired, particularly FundWare which came its way through the purchase of Kintera. But the company says now that it will probably have significant expansion of the VAR base in 2012.
