I.B.I.S.'S VABULAS TO RETIRE Featured

Andy Vabulas, I.B.I.S. Andy Vabulas has decided to retire as president of I.B.I.S. after leading the Atlanta, Ga.-area reseller for 27 years. His last day will be April 7, which takes him through the Envision conference and presumably, the last, Randy & Andy party run by Vabulas and Randy Forkner of Collins Computing, which has been a looked-for event at the World Wide Partner Conference and the former Convergence. Sonata Software of Bangalore, India, acquired the Dynamics reseller last fall.

But in an email, Vabulas wrote, "My reasons for leaving are of a deeply personal nature, but rest assured they are not related to dissatisfaction with my job, Sonata, or my co-workers." He said he intends to spend time with his wife, Mary, and family, and to golf. Until last fall, I.B.I.S. had carried Dynamics AX and GP, but the GP practice was sold to Socius in September, before the Sonata deal was announced. Now, I.B.I.S' emphasis is on its Dynamics AX-based Advanced Supply Chain Software designed for distributors, manufacturers and retailers. In 2010, Microsoft gave Vabulas its Eagle award, which is given for an individual's outstanding contributions to the Dynamics Community. The company has frequently been a member of the Dynamics Inner Circle, has been twice the Dynamics Partner of the U.S. and in 2007 was Worldwide Partner of the Year for Dynamics GP.
