OASIS PICKS UP SUGARCRM

oasis logoReseller Oasis Solutions Group of Louisville, Ky., has become the latest member of the Sage North America channel to pick up SugarCRM. And the scuttlebutt is swirling around Sage’s CRM efforts with reports the company might consider direct sales with CRM VARs providing all the after-sale services.
Considering that CRM personnel have been considerably shuffled and the unit did not perform well in fiscal 2011, it is not hard to believe that Sage might at least entertain some thoughts of doing things differently. The big defection this month was Blytheco, Sage’s largest VAR, which also picked up the open source SugarCRM line. The CRM company issued a press release recently about its good performance. After some experience with privately held companies that issue results and then go public, I long ago decided that unless there are some real numbers, such as revenue, margins or earnings, I don’t use information that only gives percentage increases.
