When execs stress sequential quarterly growth and margins in an earnings call, it’s signal that revenue is down year-over-year even if you don’t see the numbers.

And that was the case as reseller, Alithya reported a sharp cut to its loss on a 7.9 percent drop in revenue for the third quarter ended December 31. CEO Steve Reymond spun an optimistic picture noting it was a strong quarter for bookings. The net loss for the Canada-based companydeclined 54 percent to roughly $1.88 million for the mostly recently ended quarter. Revenue was approximately $89 million, a decline of 7.9 percent from last year’s corresponding period. The bulk of the decline came in Canada where revenue fell12.3 percent year-over-year to approximately $51 million while revenue in the United States was down only 15 percent to roughly $35 million. Raymond noted “some stabilization in Q3 in respect to our billable projects” and benefits from more fixed-price project in the government sector. Raymond noted interest in AI but noted that interest has “not translated into substantial revenue generation.” He also said, :We are seeing increasing interest in Microsoft Copilot training.”
